Join us at the Royal Christmas Fair 2024!
While the festival of lights (Diwali) has been celebrated in Nepal, we are slowly thinking about Christmas again. The winter time has kicked in and the days are getting shorter. In addition to the occasional snowfall, the thermometer has started to drop indicating that winter is on the way.
And so is the Royal Christmas Fair on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague. 6 Degrees will once again be a familiar face at the market together with a big team of volunteers. From Thursday the 5th of December until Monday the 23rd, we will be at the market with beautiful, high-quality Nepalese products, including our première, our Hāāmī soaps. In beautiful gift boxes or for sale per piece.
Hāāmī
Hāāmī means 'we', 'together' in Nepali. This is exactly our mission: together with Nepalese women. The Hāāmī soaps are made by the women in our soap studio in Chitwan. The packaging also comes from Nepal and is made and printed at the Get Paper Industry paper factory in Kathmandu. Many women have worked hard on getting the packaging and labels right. Watch the accompanying video to get an impression of the whole process.
Wool
In addition to the soaps, there are also other Nepalese products for sale. There are handmade high-quality woolen Nepalese products, such as lovely blankets and beautiful scarves from our partner Trikaya. And much more. This year there are also silk kimonos, beautiful cotton table sets and bread baskets from our partner Cotton Mill, jewelry and smaller gifts to choose from. Nice for in or under the Christmas tree or to give as a gift to your loved ones.
Activities
In addition to 6 Degrees’ small, cozy market stall, there is a lot to do at the Christmas market. There is a program with children's activities, Christmas actors, (children's) choirs, performances and of course plenty of Christmas food and beverages. Check out their website for more information.
